going back to work next month after 6 months off the company allowed me to put my 29 ltd classic in the oil truck
and i was looking at these 2 mics for noise-canceling wise between the
Astatic 302-636LB1=freq-100 to 5,000 impedance=Hz 200 Ohms and the 636L=freq-100 to 5,000 impedance 400 Ohms from reports they sound clear but tinny at times or harsh
does anybody know of any mods to change that ?? if i remember a few years back i heard a guy say he put a .01uf cap across the element to enhance the audio

I agree on the astatic as they are of the last left with decent quality these days. I personally run the sra-198 in the truck for years and like the 198 a lot. Now the rk56 of today isn't the same one as the good o'l telex turner days, last Chinese rk56 I gave away because it just didn't sound good. You can't go wrong with the 636l.

Cobra 29 in my work truck likes the 636L, haven't tried a SRA 198 yet, it's on my list of future purchases
The Stryker however sounded better with stock mike than the astatic , the little Cherokee base also sounds great with the 636L

I'll have the stock cobra for back up dam company is becoming strict they don't want you to use Bluetooth they suppose to install a camera inside the truck with open mike so they can listen inside the truck but on my 1/2 lunch that's when i'll do my talking if any skip rolls in

The last new RK 56 I bought sounded like a bad stock mic. I let it go with a truck I sold. The old ones that say turner telex on them were good mics but they are old mics. Old mics are a crap shoot.
