Nope, radio is a stock unmodified galaxy dx949. Same results with my 2950dx, 148gtl etc. All stock radios. No peak and tweak crap

A scope would be nice but if it swings the bird forward I would think you're ok. 500 watts carrier out of a 16 pill is exceeding the rating of the pills but I used to run one at a kW deadkey. That was back when Toshiba pills were cheap, free love and all that good shit.
Wow, i thought around 700w carrier, swinging 3200w from a 16 pill was the norm. So 500w is to much, hmm. Whats it want like 300w? Thats kinda lame
Isn't it 25 watts per pill dk with anything other than toshiba? Not sure what Toshiba's should be pushed to safety
From my understanding you can do a little more, but it may not last all that long. I probably shouldn't have said anything because I'm usually wrong about everything radio related
I have run real Toshiba's at 30 watts dead key out of the box on am and it still maintained forward avg modulation.
It had plenty of current available.

I was swinging around 2250 Bird (average) out of my 16 pill on 14 volts. Driven by a cobra 29 and 1x2 Davemade. I usually ran the carrier around 750 but would crank the variable up what I keyed with someone. I was beating 500 average out of the 1x2 but things were different then. Blowing a pill wasn't a big deal.
Gotta be nice to the hg pill at least for now. Hopefully their tech continues to advance but until then unless you want to replace transistors id keep the carrier into the 16 to 300 or less. Give it what it likes not what you like is what ive learned.
Everyone is using the regular hg 2879 and thats why i went with the C series.
Seriously though dollar for dollar one or two russian toobs is the way to go any more. That's my next venture.
Thats why i went from an 8 to a 16 pill for a bigger carrier. So that means my 8 pill should be a 100w carrier. Something isnt adding up. Unless everything i have read and seen on videos is just people driving the shit out of their amps.
That's what people want to see. Back in the day if you blew a pill you could just drop in another one. Since the gain varies so much on the China pills you're really lucky to find a close enough match and not have to replace them all.
8x25 is 200 16x25 is 400 you could probably do a little more, the question is how much?
