Wanted one for a long time. I picked up a 17 year old rusty Kia for my DD. I need to replace suspension and catalytic converter. I tried removing the lower rear shock bolt with my Dewalt impact gun. I hammered that sucker and it wouldn't budge.

My Dewalt is supposed to generate 1200 ft. lbs of breaking torque, but it wasn't moving. Since I got so much work, I copped a Bolt Buster off Amazon. I got it cause it's made in USA. Although, a few Chinese units had good reviews I decided on the Bolt Buster. I put the coil over the shock bolt for 10 seconds. It started smoking and instantly became dull red. Slapped a 14 mm wrench on and it turned like butter.

I swapped a smaller coil and heated 7 manifold bolts one by one. All the bolts came out easily. I cleaned the bolts up, added anti-seize and snuggled them back. At least the CAT should be easy to replace when I'm ready. Exhaust and head bolts always generate anxiety. I've broken so many of them. If my impact can take a Honda crank nut off, it should've removed that shock bolt. Lol

I wish I'd bought one of these years ago. It's bad ass and worth every penny. Safer than a torch.
