Time is now to revive CB Radio

How about the Midland M-88? It is DIN sized and fits completely inside the DIN sleeve. Don't know if it will hit the American market though.

The McKinley is DIN sized. Forgot that yesterday until I went to install one in a rack had been holding my 980. Will need spacers & bolts to adapt.

See JJDs pics where he has it in dash under same-size car stereo.

I received the Walcott Radio Bag. I’ll get some pics once back on the road. It’s “better” than I remembered from examining it at their store. Won’t need much fabrication added for it to do what I’ve envisioned.

Cobra 29 size. A McKinley just disappears into it (a good thing for customization).

I was trying to show that it is only about 2 inches deep, it might be a good alternative to the Cobra 29 remote face conversion. How good it sounds remains to be seen though. The suction cup mount might be good too. Or put it in your coat pocket with a battery in the other pocket and an antenna on your hat!
