I'm not going to get too excited yet, BUT it's a new small size for Ranger (about the size of a Emperor TS-5010) with high power so I'm hoping it's got a different board than the 6900 series and it's something completely new. Would be very exciting if this radio had good SSB stability with this layout (like a 2950), it could be a lot of fun. Only thing missing is that sixth digit but not much space for that on this one.

Saw that on Simon.

Strong resemblance to a G-99v2 (but a smaller radio than The Big Iron; the coal tender for a high drive KL-503)

120W power makes the Ranger attractive (size & features).

March release.

Yeah I'd rather have the 6th digit but still better than the export radios that had A-F band switch and no counter :) That was always fun.

It's definitely aimed more at the trucker crowd than hobby crowd but I'm just happy to see something different from Ranger that's not a rehash with 400 watts :) Although no idea yet what's inside so I'm guarded on my optimism.

Price might be insane too.

More junk. Sad.... (n)

~Cheers~

Nope. Not for size, power and features to install in a big truck. Its a home run if price is reasonable.

It ain’t an S-955. But few drivers buy them.

I’d say it’s aimed square at Galaxy. That — and Connex — are the CB shop display case stalwarts. Have been for thirty years.

An 86V with a big block under the hood.

45W or 120W? Billy Big Rig can add that up.

6-AWG weld cable + split loom and fuse plus lug oughta be about $40. Or, get a pre-made Big Radio install kit at $60. An hour install time price for all of it.
