Looking for info and advice for a 12v power supply. My setup would require about 65 amps continuous if it was cranked up all the way, majority of the time it would be far less but I'd rather have it and not need it. Two power supplies have my interest but not finding a lot of info other than what's advertised to sell them.

The MFJ-4275 might work but reviews for my application are old.

Another was the Megawatt S-700. It's 50 amp continuous but two in parallel would give me 100amps. But pics from their website show a sticker that says "No Return If ....." can't see the rest. Might say opened or could say defective. Anyone have experience with either one or have suggestions on a good power supply that won't break the bank?

Welcome to the forum YardDog

I have a couple of MegaWatt ones...S-700-12 & S-400-12. That seal says "No return if seal is broken"....or something real similar to that. In other words don't open the case and fool around with the insides and expect a refund.

PowerMax 100 is on right side of picture. Like that one as well.

Thank you for the welcome.
I'd rather have a single supply instead of stacking so the PowerMax has my interest now. Have you had it long and how many amps continuous are you using it for?

I have the Ameritron version of the MFJ. It has some rf hash that I'm not thrilled about. Wouldn't buy again.

Wish it was as quiet as my little Alinco which is absolutely noise free.

Found a few reviews that said the MFJ had voltage fluctuations after 2 years use, not sure if Ameritron has the same issue or not. Good to know about the rf hash regardless, thanks.

The only thing I use the PowerMax for is to run a 4 transistor amp occasionally. I have no idea how many amps continuous as it’s only working if I’m talking. The two Megawatts are only powering a couple of radios.

There are several threads on the forum about both the MegaWatt & PowerMax supplies.

PowerMax is very quiet as fan only comes on when needed which is seldom.

MegaWatt fan runs constantly but not really loud.

As far as I can tell no rf hash from either.

Not sure how long I’ve had the PowerMax. Slightly less than a year I think.

Well I've read reviews and info until my eyes were bleeding and my brain went numb. Decided on the PowerMax pm3-100. More amps than I need, no stacking, no whistles and bells, just straightforward power. Found it in stock for $179 with no tax and free shipping.

YardDog you will be happy with the powermax they are really quiet and stable, I have 2 of them stacked and work flawless with no hash.

My favorite for sure. Like those four big red fuses right out front.

Good decision YardDog (y)
Thanks. I liked the options for output connections on the MFJ, just not the long term reviews. The MagaWats was very tempting, but 50 amp was the the limit according to their website. The PowerMax will provide more than I need all in one unit without stacking. Wish it had output meters, but me being me I'd hook my meters to it anyway.
