does yaesu actually build decent radios?

i aquired a nib ft 2980 from a friend who was low on money. thats an intermod pos as bad as my ftm 7250 radios i got rid of. i got the radio. set it up n on simplex i tune to fequincys i use,scratchy noise squelch wont elinate so from 475 down to 450 weak signal but bleeding up to 475. fire up my kenwood tm v 71 and tm 4000 no intermod on 475. this is great for power but listening is crap. power and ease to get uswb is better tham my kenwoods but they are lower power.
 

I hate this question. Its like coax, politics and religion,. You just go round and round till ya get irritated, i hate yaesu, i hate icom, kenwood's are to big, blah blah blah. The answer is all three of the big guys,(kenwood, icom, yaesu) have made and make some real gems, and they also have made and make some real turds.

i had 1 kenwood mess up but was buisness band radio that was in a crash. they put new kenwood in my truck n it never messed up. my amature kenwoods work fine. as for icom i cant say a word as ive never used an icom. yaesu x 3 new n all 3 were bs
