New SSB export radio coming soon - RCI X9

Got the x9 today. Walcott paperwork says 125 pep. Which I will never run it that high. Will test when I can.
Got mine, power all the way up PEP at 80w dead keys 30 AM :( meter is mfj880
50w PEP LSB
in SSB power needle jumps down intermittently while modulating.
Receive is excellent. Getting good reports.
made in Malaysia.

How is it performing on SSB? Is it stable?
not that great at all. Looks like the "tech" completely overlooked it.
Also found the fuses in the power cord were loose on their spade connectors and not providing a good connection including loss of power, both complete power and poor conduction.

sent a message to Walcott where I ordered this about the problems. They immediately sent me a prepaid UPS label to send it back. Pretty good customer service. They said it may have to go back to RCI for warranty repair.

Of course, I was prepared for this since it's Consumer Electronics I'm dealing with...

Why do I keep buying this stuff? :)
Honestly, my 955 is better than this thing with the only exception being the receive on the x9 is REALLY GREAT.

It happens, I had issues with the first 2970N2 but then they fixed it and it was fine afterwards. Same thing with the Magnum 257HP when it first came out. The more complicated the radio the more likely something might be off.
