I know there's some talented people on here, so I was curious if anyone has a hidden talent or just something you like to do in your spare time. I like to draw, I'm not great but I enjoy drawing, I need to do it more often. So I'd like to see others talents, be it drawing, painting, woodworking, whatever you enjoy other than radio. So I'll go first, I might mention I'm notorious for starting a drawing, goofing it up and giving up on it.

I actually finished one! The wagon wheel hub was drawn from a book by Gene Frank's, I think the truck was also. as you can see I screwed up the front wheel and give up on it. I think I bite off more than I can chew sometimes, no more than I draw I probably need to choose an easier subject to draw.

Excellent work! I have been a professional photographer for 40+ years, I don't do it for money anymore and I only shoot for myself now. I am still primarily a film shooter but not 35mm, only medium and large format film. I still have a darkroom here in the house but nowadays I call myself more of a hybrid as I will develop the film but scan it into the computer for finishing.

You have a Gift that many of us wish we had!

Nice work.

Every artists' work is an expression - as I can see in your work, you feel it's incomplete, to the rest of us we see this as a building - an overlay - layer upon layer - of work as you complete one layer of a more larger canvas of the work.

There is a saying this says it best...

They're all great. The tree is my favorite.

Hey Wally I saw the wagon wheel hub as a barrel. Its just what it looked like to me. That's the thing with art though, different folks see different things....
Your exactly right, my mom had a painting, one of those cheap prints you could get at K mart, anyway it was a picture of a Spanish mission, with a red tile roof and some surrounding trees. for year that's what we all seen when we looked at it. Then my daughter who was five years old at that time stood looking up at it and asked, Nana where do you think that train is going? So me and my mom start taking a closer look at the picture, and sure enough the red tile roof was now a red boxcar and the arched doorways looked like a train trestle. Now when I look at that picture I see a train.

Closest I come is with landscaping. Takes time (daily something or other) and those tiny pieces born of many days reveals the statue still trapped inside the marble block.

Capability Brown (English) is a galaxy away from my scale of efforts. A worthy giant on whose shoulder to stand (among many others).

We were born to create. Evil stamps that out in our lives with the incessant demands of money-slavery. IMO, man only matures when physical & mental have coalesced in Spirit. Thus, Art is born.

And which comes first: Truth or Beauty.
