To 7/8 or NOT to 7/8, that is the equastion

I found this while doing research to get a proper Setup, using the ferrites kills Power as stated in this test and much more Expensive than the Coax and 4" PVC used as the Balun form and only requires 6 turns for 10 meter so that is the route i am going! As stated in this link below the ferrite balun kills over 13watts at 1500watt through and the Coax balun hardly kills over 1 watt, the most efficient and cheap to build is what im going with ! You want 5 turns of rg213 solenoid wound on 4.25" former for 11mtrs,

The coax choke will be reactive, if you are unlucky it can resonate the coax braid & make cmc worse,
I have cured multiple peoples cmc with 5 turns of 213,

a ferrite ring of the right size & material wound correctly is none reactive,

have a look at this chart from steve g3txq,
green with a black line under it is high impedance none reactive.

Ok i will Give it a Go.. used a section of 4" pipe and was 4.25" wound the Coax Around it 5 turns and drilled 2 holes on Each end to hold coax tight also drilled 2 holes about 90deg around and used a zip tie to keep the balun tight and to the form! used part of the 75' RG213 to make it and have the Balun About 10" below the Antenna!

Its best to wind the choke on your coax, extra connectors = more chance of issues with moisture & bad connections,

length = 5 turns on a 4.25" former.

Yes that is what i have done and am making braces for the top hoop because it has been moving around and creating SWR from what i can tell from my testing of the Vector 4000.... I have a PVC rod im drilling holes in and will strap the hoop direct to the center of the antenna with zip ties to secure its location.... Also i was wondering if Strappiing the Balun to the Antenna Pole is a good Idea, i have it sitting on About 20' Pole Strapped to my Tower...
