It IS what I want to hear. I want the truth. I told my buddy we should look for the best people, not the cheapest shipping. Couldn't find anyone around Upper Michigan with a decent reputation so he chose First Class. I shipped it, they received it. Now I'm waiting to see if they actually fix it.

Since your in the UP you might check with Jim here in lower Michigan. When he was located in Warren,IN he was the Stryker factory service center.

I found one way down state, near Detroit. Can't remember the name of the shop, but after speaking with them we ruled them out. Was a 6 month waiting list. Now, this could be a good thing or a bad thing, if you know what I mean. I was hoping to find someone within driving distance for him, but that proved to be a fruitless endeavor. I used to use Mike's in PA., but he's disappeared. The thing is, I don't think the radio had a major issue. Sounded to me like a cracked solder joint. After two or three key-ups in SSB it would begin to throw a carrier during operation. It blew up his amp. Turn it of and then back on, or let it sit without keying for a few minutes and it was okay again for a very short period. Two or three more keys and we're back to throwing a carrier on SSB.

EDIT: Joanne's was the place near Detroit.
