Slow incandescent lamp light (apply brake time to lamp fully lit) can lose 1/2-second.

That 1/2-second can account for 60% of rear ends.

Add to it 50% dim and it gives the full second which makes 90%.

You (whomever) get rear-ended you ain’t leaving scene. Bad mojo.

Radio noise is lesser problem.

Nor did you put your foot down about what observation should have told you. Things changed. You’re a pro or you aren’t and noted what this was AND what it means. Your silence was far worse than the rudeness of which you accuse me.

Stick your neck out. And don’t worry about the conceit 96% have that they are good drivers. They aren’t. You give safety higher importance over feelings, or you don’t.

And, as you misread my original post about LED, try it again.

Someone who drives around in his commuter-region bubble is in for the wrong surprises once he’s outside of it. Commuter miles don’t count for experience. Same for drivers with under twenty years driving time.

Knowing to look for dim tail lights is not understood by more than half of all drivers today. Knowing that those dim lamps are ALSO slow to light up, isn’t either.

Why is it they ALL tailgate today? Partly that they can get away with it. Fast & Bright tail lights.

Get the lamp fixture voltage UP to 13V at high idle, or convert to LED.

Radio is afterwards.
