looky what my mail carrier left me thursday. i swapped my yaesu ft 2980r in on the 2300.
so far i like it well. i heard how hard it is to program. false. very easy if you read manual first.every brand differs.
nice big screen with 3 color choices, contrast adjustment,4 power setting and A SQUELCH KNOB. high or low mic setting, speaking of mic many functions in it. recieve is very good with low noise with squelch off.
only dislikes i got you must download manual n lack of cooling fan.so far its doing great compare my kenwood tm v 71a screen to the icom 2300h,color n numeral size are both great.
this is a smaller radio but heavy for size.
kenwood excells by backlit keys, otherwise both are great radios. this is my first ever icom.a friend got a new 2300 last stimulus check.his audio got my attention.really great audio so i decided to give icom a try.
1 fault with about 80% of new radios built is the modular plug. but that playing field is level as kenwood, icom n yaesu use those plugs.
