I have a few countries to go on 12 meters (need 26) and 160 meters (need 14) to complete 9 band DXCC.

I now have a decent antenna on 160. Two inverted Ls. 70ft vertical and 164ft horizontal. Over 6,000 feet of wire radials underneath them. They are also phased for a little directivity (NE, SW).

For 12 meters I put up a delta loop. It is so small I'm going to add a director and reflector and point it to Europe. Not going to bother with a yagi or a Maxon just for DXCC on 12m.

I rely on Logbook of the World (LoTW) for confirmations but thought I would scour my log to see if I could add a few more confirmations with cards.

I found a couple of QSOs with UK9AA in Uzbekistan. He doesn't participate in LoTW but will send a card direct. It arrived a few days ago. Take a look at his Quad on the back of the card. He also has 7 element wire Yagi for 160 meters!

So.....another DXCC for 12m, but also a new country! My DXCC total is now 287 confirmed. (y)

Well done! In the past 5 yrs I have 130 or so confirmed on 20.. all on phone and all the old fashion way (qsl cards). Have been trying to do it on 10 now. With the cycle coming back it might not be too hard. My biggest problem is finding time to play radio. I have also switched gears to the higher bands. Have about 60 or so grids confirmed on 2m ssb.. want that vucc! Then on to 432... that will probably take a while especially on voice

10 flickers to life in short intervals here on the east coast but I’m not around the radio when it happens.

Seems the only DX is on FT8 regardless of band. I would prefer to work CW but I take what I can get.

Good luck with VUCC. That is a tough row to hoe!
