Looking for a moonraker antenna?

Super cool item, and would love to be running a Moonraker, but I can't imagine paying more than about 600 bucks for one. Performance is really identical to the Maco Shooting Star so not sure how how to justify the premium.

That sale has been running for a couple years now. Ive been watching it since it first appeared and every now and then I troll him thru messaging. NIB 4's generally bring $600-$900 + the ride on ebunk from what ive seen.

What’s the difference between the two? I have a pair of Shooting Stars.

Be advised that the Mooknraker 4 and 6 element beam antennas have a very poor / cheap Hub design. That is the Hub that connects the elements to the mast are made from the cheapest cast Aluminum known to man, they break very easy. I have broke them brand new out of the box. So handle them with super care.

New Billet Aluminum Hubs can be machined but expen$ive.

Quite right Jay, an operator near me put his 4's up last year. When he pulled the stuff out of storage two hubs were cracked, the other two busted during assembly. Off to the machine $hop he went. He really love$ his 4's, don't think his XYL does though.

Honestly I'll never buy another maco product. They're made from the cheapest materials known to man. Im not real impressed with an antenna that the buyer immediately has to replace ALL the cheap ass hardware that comes with it.
Before i spend $1k on a 4 element ill take that same $1k and rebuild a jo gunn 8 cross and call it good.
