Cincinnati, OH CB or HAM Radio Supply?

All in all I want to finish the thread and be ready when the next tractor comes around (October?) with some better supply, etc
You've done a lot of work just to start it all over again! I guess that's part of the fun/challenge of it all. It's also always a learning experience especially when changing to a different truck brand.

I'm still having issues with my International LT that's been in and out of the shop and I've been driving spare trucks in the mean time. I still make sure I have a radio with me no matter what!

Best of luck with your upcoming new truck!

Thx. Not sure it’ll happen (new truck), but want best performance till then. Every bit of work has produced good results. Maybe best radio rig I’ve had thus far.

Did too much disassembly at first then realized how easy it was (relative).

Hope you’ll get yours back soon. I dislike driving substitutes as I’m not moved into them the same way. Call it comfort (not necessary), but it matters to me. Bad radio (OEM setup) isn’t any help at all; discouraging.

I never had good luck with those double male connectors. If you tighten them down too much the barrels come off. If you don't tighten them enough, they come loose.

Better off making a super short jumper.

This became the solution. Made it to Santa’s Workshop in McKinney (TX) under an outbound load and had Brother Hankey work up short, custom-length jumpers.

Couldn’t figure semi parking for HRO in Plano (TX). Worked for me at HRO in Phoenix (AZ), but the environs of Plano Parkway are tight.

Thx to those who offered help or possibilities!

May those short jumpers work well for you. The better way to go especially in a mobile install.

On my way to the "Sticker Patch" to drop this Binder off at the dealer for repairs.

Got a funny looking 579 Pete to drive in the meantime.

They’re doing the job into Day Two on the t680 Kenworth.

The PALOMAR ENGINEER CMNF filter trio (at two antenna feedpoints plus transceiver; the three coax ends; about $180) means I’m running an AM/SSB Galaxy wide-open all day:

1). No Squelch applied
2). Max RF Gain
3. ANL (not NB) applied

DSP Speaker (filter usually turned to from ten to twelve o’clock) is underneath twelve. Can go lower, but hiss doesn’t pay in terms of catching distant TX (ain’t that a nice finding?)

Were one to turn up the radio volume to get Hiss Level acceptable thinking it’s too low to catch fainter signals, he’d get his ears blasted off (ask me how I know).

No radio hiss all day long (faint don’t count).

All y’all can see why I wanted to try this.

(Getting coax, etc, put away was the job I didn’t want to do over).

Further comments I’ll make to the t680 thread, but I wished (again) to say thank you in this manner for the help & encouragement.
