RCI 2995dxfc amplifier

That is a clean build, but built like a comp amp.
No hint of bias and as few parts as needed to produce a signal.
Don't run that on SSB

Yeah, we mostly use AM here in the Mid-Florida area.
I prefer to also use SSB, mods are not what I want to do.
Right now, I disconnected the on board amp at the power supply, and am using an RM Italy KL 203-p.
People say it sounds like the on board one, but it is still a MOSFET device,

Well, there is a guy in Tampa that is running one of these, pictured.
He gets them from a guy in Oklahoma.
It's a custom unit that is a 1 x 4, puts out about 1Kw which is about average for the big bases here in the South Florida area.
I'm thinking $600 for 1 Kw, new, is a good idea.
I have a RF power control that can dead key from 1 Watt to 35 Watts, this unit can handle a 200 Watt dead key.
The more you feed it, the more it roars.
I would not be looking for it to put out as much as it is capable of, but about 600-700 would let it last a while.
It's a 1 x 454 driving 4 x 2879's.

Since this amplifier is a 1x4 (built in driver stage) it would not be good at all to run with your 2995. The more you feed a low drive amp like this the faster it burns up and then it will roar no more. Since the 2879 finals are going to be the HG finals I don't believe this 1000 watt claim unless they are running it at 17 volts or more. The HG finals won't last long like that.

I decided not to buy the amp shown.
I was told besides not having bias, you do need more voltage.
It's almost a one use amp for competition.
Glad you guys talked me out of it!
I'm using a RM Italy KL 203-P right now, a Texas Star DX 350 should be here tomorrow.
I'm told the RM Italy makes my radio sound just like the amp board.
I left the original amp board in, I just disconnected the power wires.
It's putting out just over 100W according to my Dosy meter.
I even got some skip from the Carolina's last night, the DX 350 will do a bit better.

Just bought my first base in 35 years and just by chance it is a 2995dxcf , we’re did you pickup your Texas Star DX350 as I’m looking as well, do you like yours ??

As the 2995DX comes into the country, it's a ham-frequency radio only, 12 and 10 meters. This is the only way they can get it across the border on the up-and-up.

A small module, I call it the 'dongle' is plugged into one socket on the computer/display circuit board. This unlocks all the frequencies between the two ham bands, from 24.5 to 30 MHz.

Some dealers just plug it in before shipping the radio. Others will pack the module, usually between the inside and outer cartons. Getting it installed is then the buyer's problem.
