Icom 7300 clicking when turning VFO past certain frequencies

My Icom 7300 clicks when turning the VFO past certain frequencies, and the click sounds like a relay.

When passing in RX 1.600 it clicks, also clicks when passing these frequencies; 7.300, 14.350, and 21.450.

Can anybody please shed any light on why this is happening?

Thanks a lot, guys.

One final question - there's a "Khz" symbol in the upper right of the display to the right of the clock.

It obviously means kHz, however, what does it denote on this, and do you know how I can remove it?

That area of the screen displays what function is assigned to the MULTI-FUNCTION CONTROL knob. See page 1-8 of the manual

The "kHz" function changes the operating frequency in kHz steps. (VFO mode only) Rapidly rotating MULTI automatically increases the tuning speed.

Enjoy your radio.

As stated this just means the multifunction knob is set to 'kHz' mode in VFO. Adjusting the multifunction knob will change your frequency in kHz. This is the default position of the multifunction knob.

You have the option to temporarily change the function of the multifunction knob too.
For example, sometimes I want to change it to 'power level' instead. To do this press on the multifunction knob to open the power level. Now press and hold the power level on the display. As you can now see the 'kHz' has been replaced by 'power level' instead. Adjusting the multifunction knob now controls power level instead of frequency in kHz.

If you want to go back to 'kHz' mode just press and hold the multifunction knob and it will revert back to 'kHz'.

Hope this helps.

Edit: This is assuming you have the latest firmware.

Thank you for all the responses, guys.

This rig is my 1st ever HF set, and I'm really very impressed with it.

I can confirm my F/W version is v1.40, and I'm led to believe the "kHz" symbol I mentioned was part of the new upgrade & can be changed.

Is it worth upgrading F/W to v1.41, or aren't there any significant differences between this & v1.40?

I know ALC is part & parcel of SSB, but on my rig, it shows up when transmitting on FM (see attached image).

Is this blue line normal, as I didn't think ALC was used on FM?
