Have a line on what the seller claims to be a clean "Palomar Mini Magnum" with a SD1446. All I have is a picture of the inside, which looks very clean and unmolested. He says on a wattmeter, it goes to 10W when he keys it, then the tapers off to zero. Worth buying for $40? There aren't a whole lot of parts on the board and nothing looks crispy, so I figure it should be a fairly cheap repair, and I'll end up with a nice little 75-80W kicker.

Save your money and buy a RM Italy KL203 or KL203P with pre-amp. You’ll also end up with more output.

Hrm, good advice all around. I have other boxes, a couple RM Italys and the gamut of Texas Stars from a Mod V to a Sweet 16, but I thought this might be neat for a small knock around kicker. We'll see then.

Unless you have a specific amp you need to drive with it or you have a good 1446 transistor id leave it alone. How much do you want to spend to make 60 watts?
If you're just collecting then id say its a fairly rare amp. In the end it's your money, do what makes YOU happy.
