TX800 dilemma....

I would leave it stock, if you want more power then buy bigger. I built many of those amps back in the day and they've become rare to find in good condition. Not only that but they are built tight, there's simply not much room to make changes. I've seen some really messed up attempts to 'improve' them that are complete fails.
I agree...I'm waiting on the FedEx guy now for my straight 8 pill box :)

If you bought a chinesium transistor amp ie HG or DEI remember to keep your volts low, under 15 and your swr 1.3 or less. If you do not your amp won't last long.
I drive a 4 pill toshiba amp with my drail 955 and see about 950.
What did you get for extras on that 955? Did you get the final upgrade?

Do yourself a favor and buy a high flow fan to mount on your heatsink otherwise you'll be burning up finals. It gets very hot with the upgrade even with fairly short keys. I harvested a fan from a switcher supply that burned up and used drywall anchors and screws to mount it to the heatsink.
Other than that i love my 955.
