Imax vs. Sirio 827

did sirio ever fix the problem that caused the 827's to go open circuit and have to be rebuilt multiple times ?

Not that I know of,but in saying that while it works no other vertical in europe except the vector 4000 will touch the 827 on performance, and i max 2000's and antron 99's shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as the 827,they aren't on the same planet never mind serious competition.

SIRIO
I have a Sirio 2016, beats any vertical I ever had..26..28 mhz, flat swr, great receive and great transmit..

DOCTOR/795

Having a flat swr across 2 mhz suggests you have a very long run of very lossy coax, even a 2016 should see swr rise steadily towards the band edges, usually just over 1 mhz.If that is the case then replacing your coax with better quality coax should improve it further on tx/rx but will also show the true swr.

I I would like to know if anyone could help me with an antenna. I have a new Mosley 3 element beam I can't use. I live in Vermont and need to put up an Omni. I have an old Antron 99 using the thin coax. I want to buy either the Sirio 827 or the Imax 2000 with the ground plane. I live pretty low with a big mountain behind me.
Anyone have any good info on these 2 antennas?? I need one with good ears. I use a Icom 718 and a Ranger 2970 for my base stations...
Please email me or post a thread on here...

Thanks

i must say the sirio 827 has been my bread and butter all band vertical, for the past few years, i have tune this antenna with my palstar tunner from 28 mhz to 30 meters made thousands of contacts since putting it up in 2017 with average power of 1kw, on the other hand i replace it with an imax 2000 also one of my favorites, imax work great until i got to 15 meters 800 watts and good bye imax, lasted 1 week, put up my old sirio 827 and is balls to the wall once more,
