landmatic 557

i think it´s the similar to the magnum 257. it´s possible to convert into 11m (25.160-29.699).

I have always wanted a magnum 357, I have owned a 257 (still have one) and they are fantastic sideband radios. The clarifier is unlocked from the factory. The old models had a rejection problem like the magnum deltaforce but the newer models (one I have) does a fine job. Cb World Informer had a really good article about the radio. They have less features than a 2950-70dx but performs pretty close. As I understand Magnum gave up on the radio due to lack of sales, I don't think RF Limited makes them for Landmatic although I could be wrong. The remote amp is a nice feature, direct keying from the PTT, ALC controls the finals. Maybe next time I see one for sale I'll have the cheese to buy it and try it out.
Newer 257's have a jumper board to set up the frequencies. One position does 10M only, next is CB only and then bands a-? it's got alot of channels.

yes the mag 257 is a very nice ssb radio i have had on for years and it is still in use....

The Magnum 357's were pretty cool, they just never really caught on and thats why they stopped making them. They are just like every other Export right out of the box and must be converted to talk on 11m.
