Midland 78-999 tuneup and parts list is in SAMS # 267. I'm not at home now so I can't send you the info you need. There are other forum members who can look that up for you. Good luck. 73s.

Well I appreciate the Sams advice, I was hoping to avoid buying one for the very small amount if information I'm after. I'm not going to be doing any further tech work on it, so I'd never look at the Sams again. Thanks

There is a sticky thread in the CB section about Sams, danmcclain may have the one your looking for.

Thank you Jeff. I didn't see it anywhere in the sticky, but I will ask Dan about it.
I've looked around on the net at my usual spots for this information, but haven't had any luck. Don't like putting out requests, but its come to that. Thanks again

Midland 78-999: {L209, L212, L214, RV9-AMC, RV201-ALC, RV#-SSB MIKE GAIN, VR4-AM PWR}

If I remember correct, the AM power on that radio is a large VR mounted on the side of the chassis.

That radio has the same boards as the GE Superbase. These are from the Superbase so, they should be the same for the Midland. I noticed all the other adjustments are the same. Freq counter to TP2, ch 19, clarifier at mid position, AM/USB, CT201 for 10.24MHz. Freq counter to TP3, ch 19, AM/USB, CT203 for 20.1050MHz. Switch to LSB, CT202 for 20.1035MHz. Freq counter to TP5, Ch 19, USB TX, CT1 for 10.6950MHz. Switch to LSB TX CT2 for 10.6920MHz.

Really appreciate that info. Wish I had waited one more day, but yesterday I broke down and paid for the Sams photo facts for this radio. I just wanted to get it back perfectly on frequency, and then button up the case. Your information is dead on accurate, those were the crystal trimmers I used. I also have a GE Superbase, so I fugured the Sams might come in handy for it as well. Again, thanks for your, and the others here's help.
