Was talking some DX tonight on my Cobra 2000 GTL, and noticed my dead key was 3 watts and my swing 14-15 watts, After making a few contacts I decided to test my Galaxy DX 2547 and noticed when I set my dead-key to 3watts like my cobra but noticed my swing was only 7-7.5 watts which doesn't drive my amp ( KL 300 P ) as good as my Cobra. So what do I have to do to increase my swing on the Galaxy ? Thanks in advance.

Have you turned up the modulation on it yet?
No I haven't opened up that radio yet because I bought it brand new from Bob's CB Shop maybe a couple years ago and he unlocked the clarifier so I was hoping he had it ready to go for DX but I guess that is all he did to it. But I received the answer I was looking for from a radio tech. in another forum I belong to, so now I will open it up and make some adjustments. Time to start unloading on radios that don't perform up to par. Life's too short to struggle with junk. At almost 72 YO it's time to Let Her Rip while I still can ! LOL

Negative peak compression, reduced carrier and red wire on the bottom.
Use search on that website.
That is a little over my mechanical training head, but I will maybe spend some time searching it out. But I have more projects going on then like they say Carter has Little Liver Pills so have a great day.
