I stopped at the Fort Steuben Mall in Steubenville, OH this weekend.
Last time I was inside that mall was about 20 years ago. Today there is a JCPenney store
and about 5 other stores. Steel Mills closed and time changed. Which leads me to this topic.
The Washington Mall in Washington, PA had a great by the slice pizza place called, "Pizza Boy."
It just happened to be across from the arcade. I miss walking into a mall and at one end you can hear Rock & Roll music
from either a jukebox at an arcade, or from the near by record store, the smell of fresh pizza and the sound of Galaga, Pacman,
and pin ball machines. Thus this all leads me to this topic. Let see how long we can keep it all going...

I Miss...

Arcades
Only having two choices of beer... Lite or whatever is on Draft
Landing Strips

I miss ... DRIVE-IN Restaurants , especially A&W Root BEER, Dog & Suds, Dairy Queen, etc. Back when I was a kid, mom and dad would always take us on a Sunday drive in his new Oldsmobile 98 and treat us to dinner at a drive- in. A&W and White Castle were my favs. I can still remember pigging out on those sacks full of WC burgers and fries. Good old days !

Chevy Powerglide, cheap square body parts, vehicles you could troubleshoot without a electrical, machinal & science degree, local mom & pop stores (we do still have 1 drug store that's survived the sellouts and is 6th gen family run), TG&Y, and 50 round boxes of 22LR for .45 cents...... I guess I miss damn near everything from the late 70 thur 80s.

Split exhaust manifolds on old six cylinder Chevys. Spun aluminum wheel covers on red painted rims.

Ford flathead V8’s with dual exhaust and glass pack mufflers.

Not wearing glasses all the time. Sears “Roebuck” brand blue jeans with the wide tapered belt loop in the back.

My Avanti PDL II antenna (more than I miss the Moonraker IV)

Feeling good most days. Low priced fuel and ammo. Dogs that died. Not having coyotes everywhere.

The real Craftsman tools from Sears & Roebuck.

When all handguns were made of blued carbon steel with wood grips.

My 1930 & 31 Ford model A 2 door square body sedans. Along with my 1946 Chevy truck, 1956 Corvette, 1961 Impala convertible, etc, etc.

I miss payphones, especially when I forget my car charger and have to spend $20 on a low quality car charger at a gas station in the middle of nowhere to make 1 call.
I miss pagers, and phone booths. My wife could page me every few minutes when I was running late and I'd just turn the pager off and when I got home I just said the pay phones I stopped at were vandalized. That worked for several years, but when she figured it out I figured it was time for another wife.

This thread reminds me of going to my barber shop...nothing buy gray hair on the floor...what little hair I have left...I miss my hair.
We all miss most of the above, not to mention real service stations, Route 66, common courtesy.
Oh, and I forgot about mini skirts, or just women that dress like women.

Didn't they used to make glassware in Steubenville as well.
