uniden pc810e

Nice rig for the money. I bought one new and used it for a long time. Extra channels are hard to get and no matter what I did I couldnt sem to get 5Kc out of the clarifier. They are a good solid SSB rig....Used id say $100

PC-122 poppa/momma ! same radio as stated. Freq's are very possible but the Galaxy Blue box N kits are hard to come by anymore )-:(only gave you upper freq's but in a very stable situation) and the Expo N kit's (both uppers and lowers)but you would really need a tech that knows his shit becuase they are not as stable as the other. (Ebay might be a good find on those) there are other ways ,but still a pain in the ass. )-: like changing the chips (pll) out and then having to have a better then 5 khz slider on the radio to get what you need.(these radios are very possible for plenty of slide ,mine did 15khz using a verner dial) other then all that , for a 40 channel AM/SSB it's really a decent radio and can be tuned up very nicely. Not the best ,but decent all the same.

60-70 shipped tops for a used one. they have a very silent noise floor and the meter is excelent for nighttime use (i used an 810e for years). as stated extras were a pain, have to change the pll, and make the clairifier useless. ssb wont work right as the clairifer cannot track properly anymore. they have excelent audio, and are very stable. power supplys were weak in them though.

a lot of the Uniden "e" series radios also had a module for the meter/swr/channel read out ect. ect. when those suckers started breaking up (shorting or burning out) ,you needed a whole new one )-: nowadays very hard to get if you can even find one. The 710 / 640 / and a few others had them. They were good decent radios but boy were they ugly once those modules started breaking up and that seemed to be par for the course with those e series radios.......nothing worse for me then burnt out channel l.e.d. segments or meters that don't work , just gets on my nerves if you know what I mean. If you see these radios on Ebay , 9 times out of 10 ,they will state that segments are burnt out or they won't say anything at all . (always good to ask them a question about that before you decided to bid on those e series radios.)

If you're buying: Pick up a used Teaberry 202, or Cobra 142 instead.

If you're selling: $75 (on Ebay) or wait awhile because it's a "Buyers Market" right now and stuff is selling lower than normal.

Personal experience: I owned one for awhile but it's size was an immediate turn-off (I like Big rigs), and the design made it look more like a stereo receiver than a transceiver.

OK there are 2 pros on EBAY but no PCs. The pro810e looked big in the picture on Ebay though. So I was confused.
