Rule of thumb as they say, You should expect a 20 mile radius as far as distance but that isnt always so as it depends also on what the other people are running and how efficiant their setups are. I remember those LOL!! That was Radio Shacks way of trying to compete with the Cobra 2000GTL and the President Madison radios!!! should bring $100.00 - $150.00 resale with manual and all. I remember those had an SWR calibrate knob or flathead srewdriver setting on the back of the chassis. Good...- TonyV225
