Well I have to know how many volts and what the current is on my high power transformer's. They are not labeled and they are NOS from the 1980's from a company that went out of Business making Class D amplifiers. I am not going to build my doubler blindly with out knowing what my starting...
I know old post but I would get a four pin to 5 pin adapter. You srew the 4 pin into this adapter and then srew the adapter in the radio. Now you can use any 4 pin and keep the radio totally stock Are you putting micro switches on the mic so you can control the radio?
In 1991 I got to see and use a AR3300 and AR3500 100watt model with the SP1-A from the factory as an option. I was hooked and when I got my RCI2950 I put one in as the first mod. In truth since the AM section was basically a cybernet clone it really did not need it for AM or SSB. In fact localy...
Is their a good explanation for why we use ceramic doorknob caps as the first choice for coupling parts in the tune and load sections? Even in those amps not using doorknobs they still always use some form of ceramic cap. I do not want to just copy cat designs I kind of want to learn why we do...
You know you might find that the apartment or home has no ground. I bought my first house and the first thing that went up was a "No Laughing" Antron 99......The power company, cable company and gas company totally butchered the area of that house where everything came in.....Not a single thing...
It is right in the middle......Depending on the model they tend to hover in the $60-$150 range especially in that kind of cosmetic condition and it has all the books and owners manuals. Most of the ones I bid on I let go if they go past the high $60 into the $70+ range because they can also cost...
Ok my fluke is dead and my Mircronta is no better both of them stop at 1000V AC and DC. So I have been scroling through web sites and my eye's are bleeding.....I do not car if it is analog or digital and I am not a brand snob either. The only reason I own Fluke,Wagner,Klein, Milwaukee, and other...
Yep look like that. I will prop. save them then and use them when I need them and have a high heat environment. I plan on using some fans in the power supply area and venting so heat should not be much of an issue.
Ok well then now it makes sense why I can not find a "load" unit rated that high but I can find tuning unit's rated very high. I posted a question a while back asking if the air variables had to handle the peak DC power in the system or the RF power in the system or what? I never got an answer...
Ok so here the rub. When I find air variables above 1000pf they rated in the 1-1.5KV range when I look at the ones in the 3kv-4.5KV range they are all under the magical 1000++++pf range.....Even ones specifically listed by RF Parts and Palstar as load capacitors are usually under 1000pf but...
Your tech is right they are not a Lincoln or HR2510 but they are really good radio's. They where produced specifically to meet a price point and to replace the HR2510 and Lincoln for Cooper Electronics...... Amateurs where being jerks about that particular radio why I have no clue since the...
The ones I am talking about are just the balancing and bleeders. But would this not hold true for any resistors in the power supply area? If any resistor in the power supply area fails will not take out parts down stream? Also the greater the resistance would that not put more load in the system...
That white thing is a ceramic variable capacitor. If you did not touch it then it is already set at the factory.
If you google that tubes data it will give the data you need to set the bias.
Ok so I was putting my parts out on the work bench doing a dry run layout and it hit me.....Not only are carbon resistors old school but I think the design I am following is old and out dated.
Oh I was lying out parts for my rectifier/doubler board. It called for 100 ohm 2 watt carbon...
