    11 meter is very quiet?

Freeband is the answer! The CB band is only going to get worse as conditions improve this cycle. IMHO. JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

These radios will swing to damn near full power from a low DK! Some folks just can't resist wrecking a perfectly good radio with golden screwdriver ideas! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Scott seems like a stand up guy. I just had an email conversation with him and he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I would definitely do business with him when the need arises. I've considered trying out the KPO mic but I've gotten nothing but flowers using a 636 with a little bit...

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I have a Top Gun Quad 5, a 5555 clone, and I like it a lot! One of my favorite features is the ability to program 60 channels per band with the software. Unfortunately it doesn't have the DSP feature of the newer versions, but I have a speaker for that! West Mountain CLRSPKR. JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

My Quad 6 will skip a bit here and there but nothing like my v1 955! The 5555NII is light years ahead of both regarding the channel selector! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I wonder if the frequency expansion procedure has changed like the newest 955v2's? JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Mine has it too,but unlike this new revision you have to use the VFO to get there. JD

    Volvo VNL mid roof

One of our drivers in a Cascadia daycab is using a screw-in bird perch on the back of the cab with a Wilson 2000 on it. Seems to work fine. As for my adventure...........I still have some tuning to do and possibly some RF grounds as well. Volvo's seem to ground, RF wise, better than the...

    Volvo VNL mid roof

Didn't like the standard Bird Perch mount. Couldn't tighten the antenna mount properly on it so I dug out the Top Gun Z-Perch mount I had laying around and found I could mount it on the back of the sleeper using 2 existing bolt holes. These have a much beefier bird perch mount than the regular...

    Stryker 955 V 2

I have 4 Quixiang built radios. 1. Anytone 6666 2. Anytone 5555NII 3. Top Gun Quad 5 4. Stryker 955v1 It amazes me that the most expensive of the bunch, the Stryker by a good margin, has the shittiest channel selector ever seen in this hobby! And it's still not fixed? This sounds like a Stryker...

    Field Strength Meter

Just curious....instead of keying down the radio, would running an antenna analyzer provide enough signal? JD

    11 meter is very quiet?

We'll be running it out on the big street this week so if all else fails, turn up the echo and yell Baba Booey! LMAO! JD

    11 meter is very quiet?

Figures, I put new antenna on the truck and I'm thinking, is this thing working? Checked a couple of SDR deals online and the band took Sunday off! JD

This is, basically, a tryout. If I like what it does I'll tighten things up(the nail, etc.)! Not too bad on the RigExpert.....

    DX Engineering

After living out here in the Buckeye for almost 5 years I finally walked into DX Engineering in Talmadge, Oh. yesterday! With all the China Virus restrictions over the last 2 years the store usually wasn't staffed. Well I needed some coax so I decided to go and check out the store. First you...
