Hey Ryan, why don't you give us some good close and mid-range pictures. I would like to see this antenna up nice and close so we can get some ideas on what is going on with this strange bird.

    Base Workman M400 Starduster

I did models for the A.S. style Starduster vs. the Siro M400 Starduster, and according to Eznec, + any errors I could have made, the Sirio chart will produce models that are several inches short of CB resonance and you'll be working best in 10 meters. We've all seen this silly move by...

    Base Workman M400 Starduster

WhiteAstro, I was going only by some images I've seen on the Internet where they looked very similar. I have Sirio manual, but I look around a little and did not find the Workman manual available. If you have a copy, just post it here in this thread, and I will get a copy, you are probably...

    Base Workman M400 Starduster

From what I see in the ads...I think the Workman is a Sirio. Don't know about the drain holes in these, but it is a very good to consideration. Like I may have posted above...I use "Cross Device Stuf" inside the PL259...to try and help keep water out of your feed line at all costs, so if there...

    Base Workman M400 Starduster

Hey Undertaker, take a look at the metric calculator to inches link I posted above, and you'll be working on that antenna in no time. IMHO, a really good choice if you can get it 36' to the hub or higher. https://www.sirioantenne.it/en/products/hf/starduster-m-400 Put some of this stuff inside...

how effective is a j pole antenna on 11 meters ?

Thanks 233, your results don't surprise me...based on my comparison models above in my post #39. The models show little difference in gain, but I doubt most of the time it would be a noticeable difference. I've also seen videos on YouTube that indicated very similar results to my Eznec models...

Alexis, sorry I didn't mean to suggest the Larry 150, was the same as you showed us in your images above. I was just trying to find something on CTE that showed...how poorly they described their old antennas back years ago.

Alexis, sorry the link does not work. Sometimes I can't get this new dxForum software to do anything I might be trying to do. I looked again for the link I sent you, but I couldn't find it. Some time back in 2020, I posted a thread about CTE. I tried to cut the address and paste. In response...

I looked around and found this link below. Click: http://73.235.100.209/ant_manuals/cte/spectrum_1600.pdf edit: Jeff I think the link above is the same as I posted earlier, but it did not have the http:// before the 73.235,206, ----cont'd. This # could have also been different. The CTE Co...

    Base Unknown aluminum antenna

Alexis, it does look like an old CTE, but I can't give you a name for it. The dimensions given, appears to be a 1/2 wave CB antenna to me. This old antenna looks very similar to what Sirio produces today. These two companies must have been connected somehow.

Good idea Tony, but when you need a more knowledgeable tech around here, it seems things tend to get real quite...real fast.
