So last week finally after 10 years, my 2990DX quits. Bummer. I loved this radio, so it makes sense that if I want a replacement for it, the 2995DX is my choice. Called Copper in Louisville and with shipping, it came to $589.00. Not gonna pay them to convert it when all it takes is plugging in...
Thinking of converting this beast to 24LQ6's @ $12.59 each. Attached is a modified schematic showing how. Basically tying the heater of 5 tubes in series to get 24 VAC to the heaters. 120/5 = 24 Thought's???
