My buddy down the road from me has been splitting the screen sandwich & reversing the polarising filter in handies, lincolns, emperors & icom 706mk2g's for many years, yes its tricky you can crease the film or break the screen, looks good but I would not risk it myself.

I use an Equinox 800 with the stock 11" coil & 6" coil for trashy sites, sold the 15" x12" coil, too big for the kind of places I detect, For 30+ years I was a Whites man & dabbled in fishers.

If loudwolf sell it as pcb etching solution & you mix it at the right concentration it should work, something must be stopping it working for some people, It could be your water that's no good especially if its got iron in it, I use Ferric Chloride in distilled water & it never fails to work...

What kind of water are you making the solution with?, its best to use distilled water for etching solution so contaminants don't react with the persulfate & reduce its concentration, also scrub the pcb with Scotch-Brite or similar abrasive pad to remove any oxidation grease & fingerprints.
