It's a Galaxy 44hp. When I turn up the volume, you can hear an unstable squeal start to build up. Was wondering if anyone has seen similar issues and can remember their fix. Doesn't happen in PA or FM mode.

No tx and no RX. no carrier and no frequency output. Audio section works fine (checked with PA system). I've changed the PLL already with a new one. Any ideas?

Got an Uniden Madison with a busted Sig/TX pwr. Used a Cobra 139 meter as a substitute but when I adjust VR1 for a 9lbs reading with 100uV, dead dignal reads as high as a 6. If I jump the meter terminals with resistance, it's either the same result or I allow too much pwr to bypass the meter...

Does anyone know how to mod this rig to get 11 meters? Only info I have found was a youtube vid and my didn't come out the same. I think there is a bit more than just moving the pins. Stupid SMT!!!

Cobra 29 ltd side mic needs a dim able led. Seems like I've seen it done before. Anyone know how? As of know, the led is soldered in where the original lamp was. Led works but can't dim. Buddy says it's too bright and would like it to dim with dim switch like the channel does.

Ok. The radio receives fine.......AFTER...I key the mic. And that's only majority of the time. There are times that it won't come back after I key up. I have changed TR35 and D43 thinking it was the switching trans. I am thinking it's the AGC because when the RX is out, it's not out completely...

I can't believe it! CBradioclub.com has shut down!!! Is there another club page out there that is dedicated to the CB hobby like that one was? No offense to this forum, but some members of this page (hams) don't care for the hobby of CB like I do. Only some. Not running all us hams in the mud.

I have TX power, but no modulation. Swapped mics, I do have audio on PA and hear myself with talkback, but nothing on Mod meter nor can I hear myself on test radio. SSB works fine. Normal RX on 980. There's really nothing on this radio out there. Anyone know where I can get a schematic or has...

Anyone have this issue before? Everything has been checked a few times. But D8 is blowing! Any ideas? Done this mod a few times. Never had this problem. This is a '97 model with mic mount on the side.

GE Superbase has had this very loud crackling in the receive. I cannot tell where it is coming from. I replaced all of the elec. caps on the top board (which is 99% if not all of the RX and audio). I will be replacing the audio IC in this radio anyway. And i can't quit get the RX to open up...

Ok. I've been trying to improve the RX in my CBs and one of the tips I got was using "larger" cap filters in the Audio section. I'm not that familiar with caps. So are they referring to the capacitance or the voltage? Would I replace a 1000uF 16V with a 2200uF? Or a 1000uF 50V? I'm not...

Ok, been kicking my butt for a couple weeks now. replaced Audio IC and Pwr IC (Pwr IC was replaced for a different issue). replaced caps C172, 175, 176, 186. Replaced TR19 and TR43. TR14 was upgraded for the 2999 rx upgrade. No audio from any port (phones jack=unknown). No audio in CB or PA...

Ok. The meter moves, so the RX is fine. Swapped mics, RF is all the way up. Checked switch for speakers, etc. no audio on AM or SSB on CB and PA. I had un-modded the clarifier mod. The frequency counter didn't like the mod at all. I never could get her back on. So i put her back to un-modded...

Got a Washington with low but readable audio on internal & external speaker. But loud and proud on PA. All I can think is either phone jack or EXT SP jack is shorting out. But a can't find it. Any ideas? Other than that, she's a good radio. -Jetman:thumbup1:

Got a newer version (MOSFET FINAL) Galaxy DX 2547 and having crazy power issues. Where the HELL is the power adjustment pot VR701!!! My service manual has a few errors in it. Anynoe out there know where it is? Thanks for reading!!!

Powered up my 200 today (I have not bumped, hit, tinkered with) today and got all 8's on frequency counter and channel display. Radio will not TX/RX. None of the knobs work. What gives? MOSFET fried??? Can't figure it out! Running on: PYRAMID 12-15VDC 35amp power supply.
