i am enjoying the daylights out my new Yaesu ftdx 3000, I have had great visits all over the place with the radio on 10 12 15 meters with my 11 meter beam Mako 104 ,but need a little help on 40 meters.that dipole at 23 feet could use some help,if the dipole is higher the beam snags it on the way...
Glad that's over,now to keep reading about the best radio to buy.
The club had a 590 kenwood that they were using for field day, nice.
The next question for me is to buy an antenna analyzer ,to get this new 11 meter beam working better,or just get a tuner ?

My amax is working good,lots of very good signal reports,at 1/2 power ,mostly south,is there a 4 element beam,that I could run about 10ft above my deck that would be worth the investment ? Tech ham test soon.
I have been trying to get the swr below 1.8 on my :blush::blush: install on the side of my deck ,I made a choke balun out of about 20 wraps of my to long rg8 coax .
But the antenna is super low at 28,300--28,500 swr there is 1.1
It about 8 ft high so I could play with the rings I tried...
