Presumably the HD version has no driver?
I’ve got an hd sat here and it has the driver still and a 7db pad
the later ones had a different board design and that cutout by the relay is where the pad goes.
Note. The 703 uses 2x 3db pads for input attenuation
If this bypass is done the SWR will be high. Mine was flat now it’s a 3 so I have to use a z100 auto tuner.
100% there is a lot of input swr with this mod unfortunately, I’ve tried tweaking the coils with no success so far.
Ok press 10k or nb while turning on
Release and press function for 3 seconds
Bfo tuning appears and main vfo adjusts value. Auto saves when switched off
The rest is up to you but make sure you have a 10mhz gps and a nine digit counter
Or rubidium standard.
ive still got one of these awfull radios, after i program custom frequencies
i send to raido and it then resets itself to band 2 which is usless as you then
have to re enable band1 which wipes any custom channels that might have been there. great potential let down by hopeless programming.
I may know a guy over here who can re write the file, possibly best in smt as well these days. I’ve no problem sending the revised gerber back over to you if he can do it.
Any chance of a gerber file?
I’m in the uk and the postage is horrendous on the eBay.
I’ve got a lot of guys over here who would benefit from this cool idea
I Set 520’s at around 3.6v gate. I test first in dca pro to get the switch on but 3.6v is usually ok.
Thanks for the info I’ll check cb tricks as well and make up some feedback boards.
Had a 955 hit the bench and he’s 24v it in a truck
I’ve changed the obvious parts
E510 (exploded)
U506 blown
L511 made no difference
D513 made no difference
Finals short (disconnected)
Tp 504 505 506 507 508 all 2.2v
J505 2.2v
8v by J501 2.2v
Q529 Q530 both 2.2v
Anywhere in fact that...
It has the L10-11-12 cans from a known working radio in it and still deaf on ssb.
Q23 is the problem I’m sure
if I touch this leg with anything conductive the rx
Comes up quite a bit. But again this is a known working part so I guess the voltage is dragged out somewhere along the line
thanks Chris
they seem ok. If I touch the q23 area the rx goes up but not to full sensitivity then if I reduce the generator then increase it doesn’t recover the signal again.
changed q23/25 and the diode i mentioned before.
am fm is spot on very sensitive
Rgs
I’ve got it working Chris was a bunch of dry joints.
only fault I have now is ssb rx is quite low
I’m guessing check q23/25?
Maybe the diode next to L12
