Thinking on brewing one or "Buy it Now" a multi-band HexBeam. Anyone out there have one? If so did you homebrew it or buy it? If you bought one, which one? How is it surviving weather? How high do you have it? Working the world with it?
Any info/experience/feedback appreciated.
Thanks,

Another band seldom seen talked about here, 12m was open several hours here to eastern and western Europe along with Central America. Heard a station in Jordan down in the noise floor but couldn't work that one. The DX is still going as I post this.
Maybe this is a sign of better things to come...
Worked Portugal and Israel on 15m SSB this evening. 100w and an antenna that needs to be higher than what it is (about 3/8 wavelength up), but isn't. 15m and 17m give me my DX fix some days while 10m is rarely open lately at my QTH.
Thought I'd start a thread about something no one ever talks...
What ferrite mix for RF common mode chokes for 6m?
And yes Mike, I did Google it and found some answers but would like to hear from some of the smart, experienced folks here also :giggle:
Sometime in the near future (God willing of course) I'll be relocating to a home with room for something other than a wire Inverted V. So I have decided to homebrew a wire Moxon for the SSB sub-band of 10 meters. Having never had/used a directional antenna before I wanted something lightweight...
Ordering materials to brew up a wire Moxon for 10 meters and the shipping costs are over 1/3 the cost of the material. On one of the major items (8 ft. pieces) the shipping is close to 80% of the material. Has gotten kind of ridiculous. Thanks for listening, I just needed to get that off my...
After Christmas I ended up with some Crapazon (sorry, I mean Amazon) bucks that I had to decide how to best use. After careful deliberation (gave me a headache) I settled on this one. And I'm very glad I did. I can't rightly call this a review, it wouldn't be fair to compare the Hakko to the...
Curious to see:
Anyone here interested?

Had the pleasure to work my first Forum member DX contact this morning 455monte in South Carolina from north Kentucky on .385 LSB. He sounded top-shelf on my end.
Hope to make many more member contacts when Mother Nature allows.
Looking forward to seeing lots of future posts in this thread of...
Am experimenting with a Full Wave, Vertically Oriented, Rectangular Loop antenna on a condo balcony. Wire is #12 AWG THHN cut for 27.395 Mhz. Short sides (4'-6") of rectangle are vertical, long sides (13'-6") are horizontal. Antenna is fed in the center of one of the short vertical sides with a...
