    Base antenna

    Putting up a 6 element beam. Is it better to have the whole ant above the tower or is it ok to be down around the tower? Jim/238

    Heathkit SB201

    I was given a SB201. The band switch only has 15M , no 10M. If you want to run on 10/11M what do you have to do? I have put a new capacitor board in it. Transformer checks ok. Have not triad too run it yet, it does light up. Jim/238

    Heathkit SB 200

    Sonar 2340

    Noticed the meter keys at 6 & swings almost all the way over when i talk. But when i use my mini scout it keys 0 & barely moves. Is this caused by a mismatch, or just that it affects the meter? The radio talks great either way. 238

    Maco brute 75

    What is the correct way to set the input tuner i Maco? The one that sets between the relay and the resister that goes to pin 9 on the tube. Jim/238

    Mini Scout

    Have run this amp off & on far 10 plus years. The other nite it started to chatter when i would key. Was going to clean the relays, but only way you can that is remove the relay. You can turn the variable a little bit it will work okok, then do it again. Just asking about possible problems...

    Superstar 4900+ / Magnum 257

    Hunting the 6 button assembly for a Superstar 4900+. I believe it is the same as a Magnum 257. On the early radios when the button broke loose, it would fall out. Thought some one might have a junk radio i could get the part from. Jim/238

    Golden Eagle 68 transmitter.

    Just rebuild the tone generator in my Golden Eagle transmitter,68t. After i changed the parts out, resistors & ne2 light. I hooked it up an every thing worked fine. After using it a little while i lost the audio. It still has a dead key, just no audio. Pin 7&9&3,on the 6bq5, have no voltage...

    JB 2000 transformer

    I have a one tube, 3-500, amp i am rebuilding. It originally had a SSB220 transformer in it, but it passed away. Had a JB2000 transformer installed. I thought some one might know the voltage of the different wires. The guy just cut the other wires off. The big yellow wire is cut off also...

    1N4725 diodes

    Replacing the caps & diodes & resisters in my one tuber. The diodes are 1N4725 i have 1N5408. By the specs they are both 1Kv x 3 amp. So the 5408 should work ok 238

    Browning MKlll receiver

    Working on a MKlll receiver. There is 2 different models. The early one has MAN/XTL/XTL and the later has CB/HF/XTL. All the schematic's i have are of the older model. Did they print one for the late model? 238

    Mini Scout

    When you key it up it will about key around 10 watts. But you hold it keyed a minute or less it will drop down a 2 or 3 watts. I tried 4 tubes same thing either the tubes are about the same shape. Could some thing else cause this. The caps been change several years ago. 238

    Maco recieve pre amp relay

    I know you disconnect the receive pre amp by cutting the 2 wires going to the main relay. Then solder a jumper across on that relay. I know you have to leave the pre amp broad in so it can key, but can you go ahead an remove the pre relay? 238

    Maco 200 all finals

    I bought this amp 7 years ago, ran it some. It had been converted to all finals. 6lb6 Decided i needed to overhaul it. The input never had any effect on it. I added a 100pf across the legs no different. I have put new caps & diodes in it. No sure how you figure out what to do with the input. 238
