Had a brief contact with 399 JJ earlier. The noise was really bad, but we made the connection between antennas work for a short time. Always good to hear another forum member on the air.
Made several contacts this morning to Germany, England, and Ireland. Though all were from 27.415 lsb to 27.585 lsb. I'll try again later and see what happens. If nothing else I'll be on 27.535 lsb this evening talking to my locals.
Windy, 8 degrees, and snow. Nothing to do but play on the radio. I'll be cruising 27.365 - 27.500 lsb. So far all I'm hearing is California and New York, and a lot of F bombs lol
I heard you in there a few times. But it seemed about the time you let off the mic I was getting hammered with bleedover and couldn't get back to you. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
I have both the 7300 and dx10. Not the same as the 710, but very similar. The factory hand mics sound pretty good on both radio's but I have an Icom SM-30 on the 7300 and a Heil PR-30 on the Yeasu now because I don't like hand mics. Icom likes electret, but I don't think a d104 or Turner would...
Was great making contact with you as well. I'm rarely on the forum anymore but had to check in tonight. Conditions were rough but when the qrm backed off you was sounding great tonight. First contact with you but look forward to another one.
I'll hope I don't get banned. You can bash 11m all you want but heaven forbid you not bow down to amateur radio bands, so be it.
Don't think I'm going to get my ham license. Been listening in on the bands all night. Everyone is obsessed with looking up every operator's info on qrz and other...
I got a PM3-100LK a few years ago and it's powered radios and amps just fine with room to spare. The only issue I've had is it puts out a lot of noise on 80m. All other bands are fine though.
Yea it's rough out there today. Was good to hear another member on the air. Made a brief contact with 917 and 305 in Cali also, but that AM splatter took me out pretty quick.
Well the info you googled and posted was incorrect. The radio already receives from 0.030 to 74.800MHz from the factory. The only diode that needs removed is d422 and it's done unless you want 60m. Lots of conflicting info on the net for sure...
Made a brief contact with 159 in California and pretty sure I heard 917 calling out about an hour ago. Both of them got blasted by that same west coast superbowl champ that bleeds every channel from 10 below channel 1 to 10 above channel 40.
My IC-7300 will only do 100 watts on ssb if you don't get crazy and crank everything to the max. Turn up every setting to max and the ALC will actually reduce the PEP output. On AM it's 25 watts max. If it's capable of a 100 watt swing I've never seen it. And I've never seen a 25 watt carrier on...
I've read about doing the 11 meter mod, not only on this forum but all over the net and the info is conflicting. Some info says to remove d416 for rx and d422 for tx. Other info says only remove d416. I could already receive 11m brand new out of the box just using the vfo but maybe removing a...
