Since channel 19 has become a "DX" channel, is there any movement on picking another channel to use for truckers, or any of us who use it while traveling? Keeping the squelch up to 80% doesn't seem like a good solution.

Anyone else see the CB they used as a prop for a police scanner in Silent Night? They were obviously keying the radio with no antenna attached as the S/RF needle was jumping and the ANT warning light was blinking. My XYL and I actually laughed, quite loudly, in the theatre when we saw that. :D

Has anyone found a service manual for this handheld? It's the newer version of the TRC-216 (40 channel, center loaded antenna, 5 pin mic jack, LCD, etc.). Nice radio, but it's developed a squeal when transmitting. I've taken it apart, removed the antenna, and hooked it up to a dummy load...

Info on this HT seems to be almost unobtainium. Anyone have info for the modulation and power adjustments on this? It's not the same as its older cousin, the TRC-216.
