11 meter is very quiet?

Not a bad day of playing radio while on some pto. It was a mess but the propagation was ripe to punch through and make some good contacts.

Even had a brief contact with (@Shadetree Mechanic) wdx-808 in Delaware, it was great to hear you out there my friend

I am hearing California in there too but conditions aren't quite right.
The conditions are erratic, I was talking to a couple guys back east good signals and 3 minutes later they were buried in the noise level.
Ten was the same way, several guys in a roundtable on 28.390 faded in, made a contract with two then they faded into oblivion.
Sol is ripping and snorting, might be a good time to get up at 3 AM and turn the radio on especially the guys on the East Coast.
As the sun is setting across the pond and we move towards sunrise in North America you can sometimes get really good long distance contacts into Europe.
And you guys with a beam should turn it due north when it's crazy like this and listen for signals over the pole.
I do miss my Quad......

I haven't gone down to the shack since last Friday. Last week I got my 1st Hyaluronic Acid gel injections in my knees and for the first time in ages I could walk without my knees grinding and popping. Still a little pain, but my tendons and ligaments need to heal. Doc said no stairs and hill climbing. I tried going down the hill to the shack and knees started popping again. So no more radio until the treatments are done in April. Don't want to take a chance on screwing up these treatments. I've been walking like a cripple for so long, that walking normally again feels amazing.
So. . . talk to you all on the air in three months. 73.

Believe me I can understand your pain. I've been dealing with wore out knees for years. I use 2 walking sticks to deal with stairs because I don't trust the old knees.

Just made my second ever contact to Europe in FM mode!! 30KF62 in the South of Spain on 26.805FM. West Coast of Canada to Europe on 120 watts and a homebrew delta loop antenna.

Europe is easy on SSB, but doing it on FM is next level. My other European FM contact was with Limerick Ireland last year, and I repeated that one on two consecutive mornings.........

Conditions have been incredible the last few days....nothing beats being at the top of the 11 year solar cycle.

MMM has the kind of station that MAKES his conditions
10 Kilowatts and a six element horizontal beam will do that LOL! That man's signal darn near vaporizes everything in its path !

That said, I've spoken to him (on channel 6 no less) a few times over the years and he is a fine operator with a very clean signal and audio. He knows what he's doing, that's for sure!

I'm impressed. I've worked a few EU stations on 10m FM(AM too 25w), but I'm a helluva lot closer to them than you. Your Delta Loop is working well. Well done.
