D104 on Realistic trc432

I picked up an Astatic D104 Lollipop mic (love the cool look). It has a four pin plug and works great on my Uniden CB. However, I also have a Realistic TRC432 base CB with a mic conversion plug for four pin to realistic which works well with other four pin mics. Problem is, the Astatic doesnt want to work with the Realistic CB.

When I key up it makes a noise. If I have pre amp on mic turned up, I can hear my voice behind the noise. No change in noise when Pre Amp turned down.

Is there a secret to getting mic to work with realistic CB ?
Assume all are stock,,, cant see mods on either.

Thanks

CBtricks.com has the schematic for your radio. Didn't see a separate wiring chart in manual but schematic shows wiring for both sides of mic connector.

Someone here will probably post a wiring chart before long.

Thanks.. I might need some pointers in addition to schematics if anyone else has done this.

TUG8 bases have 2 sets of contacts in the PTT switch, one set switching the battery in circuit to power the amplifier, other set selects Receive/Transmit for the radio. TUG8 mic audio from the amplifier board is always connected.

TUP9 bases have 3 sets of contacts, one set for the battery as above, one set for the RX/TX for the radio, and the 3rd set connects/disconnects the mic amplifier audio from the radio.

6 wire base or 4 wire base? ( is it a tup 9 or a tug 8?) for a reference d104 is the round head only ,,, the bases are tup 9 tug 8 ug8 and a few others,,,

It has a T-UP9 Stand and a four pin plug.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Like I mentioned above,, it works very well with my Uniden CB (520) but,
not with Realistic CB (TRC432) through a four pin to realistic mic converter that works well with other four pin mics.

I think the wiring might be good... I now think it needs the following. I tried turning the mic way down and the noise disappeared. What do you think of this ?
THE RF FEEDBACK “SQUEAL” PROBLEM

Feedback squeal is a very common problem. If the mike is correctly wired and there are no broken wires in the plug or cord, the squeal is usually being caused by RF feedback. Fancy name, easy solution. Often the stock mike works fine, and the squeal only starts when you try to wire up a power mike.

There’s nothing wrong with the mike. RF feedback means that some of your TX energy is getting back into the audio or modulation circuit of the CB. It starts a continuous cycle of oscillation or feedback, just like a PA system with the mike too close to the speaker. The most common causes are poor RF filtering in the CB, or high antenna SWR. The cure is cheap and simple.

How To Cure The Squeal

1. Open the mike and figure out which colored wire is the actual audio or Mike line. (See the previous discussion to determine this.)
2. After finding the audio line, cut it at a convenient spot and insert a 4700 OHM (4.7K OHM YELLOW-VIOLET-RED), 1/2-watt or 1/4-watt resistor in series with the audio line. See the inset in Figure 3.
3. For extra filtering protection, also connect a .001µF or .01µF ceramic disc capacitor from either side of your resistor/audio line connections to the bare twisted shield (Ground) braid of the mike cable.

Update:
- Still doesnt work with Navaho radio.

My D104 mic came looking great except for the cable. So, I replaced the cable and plug while adding the resister to the voice line. Seems even better on Uniden but, still squealing on Navaho.

Any other ideas ?
