Diesel Shortage East Coast

This will directly affect what I do for a living as well. We're already getting daily reminders from the folks sitting in a corporate office about our idle times. Easy to say when their office is in a building versus mine on diesel powered drive train and already hitting 100 degrees outside. (Hey, keep them idle times down and bake your a55 off because we need to keep profits up to please investors)
It's much more than just one condition in my own work bubble I know... Rumors say prices will get higher and will do so fast..... that'll affect all of us in many ways....

Trucking companies already are passing the buck by charging fuel surcharges.
When corporate/dispatch would complain about my high idle times, I would tell them all the sitting I am doing unloading and loading is not making me any money. I would get no response.

Yeah it's just sickening to know that this could have been avoided.

And what's our President doing to help? Well, on Saturday, February 19, 2022 he cancelled all exploratory gas and oil drilling leases and permits through the remainder of 2022!

I have to wonder if it could get so bad( diesel prices start hitting $6-8 dollar's a gallon down the road) that the Entire truck driving industry comes to a grinding halt because no one can afford to fill up the gas tanks,etc....Not trying to be Mr gloom and Doom,but I do wonder if it's a possibility at some point in the future?? Or I'm I just Crazy for thinking like that????

I work at Five Guys as a cook,and we like most restaurants rely on our truck deliveries and so forth,you can bet your bottom dollar that these crazy diesel prices won't only affect the driver's,but down the road the cost will be passed down somehow,just saying...................
I know what you mean, thats why I've kept my mouth shut! We don't need anymore of us on the Banned list.
Same thing is happening here in Canada, they are slowing and stopping drilling, one would wonder if this is all done by design.

He says he anticipates a good weather window for at least two days then. The team will attempt to move the equipment and supplies onto the island using the zodiac then. They have two zodiacs. They are hoping to accomplish it in those two days.
