i just got a new cobra 29 lx from dtb radio shop what a joke there tune up is just to remove the slug they did not even set the mod the mod was just at 80 % WHAT A JOKE I would never let them work on any of my radios just another truck stop butcher

DTB actually dug through a batch of junkers in his shop to get slugs to replace the ones some other hack job had removed from my radio...seems funny he'd take the time to replace mine but remove yours??

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

And their off!!! This is the second DTB Radio complaint post this week!! Uuuuuuhhh ooooohhhhh!!

:bdh:Here we go again!!!!

So it would seem. Sounds like the first guy succeeded in stirring the pot deep enough with unsubstantiated innuendos that the followers decided to hitch a ride on the band wagon. Thread is open for now but we should take bets as to when it will be closed due to getting out of hand.

I'll be at work tomorrow so it will likely be someone other than I that closes it if it gets that far. I'll take you up on the Timmies however if you mean donuts. I don't care for their coffee. ;)

What did you use to check your modulation?

Exactamundo!

This is the problem, as modulation meters are almost never correct and usually way off.

He probably used an O-scope on his bench and gauged it that way.

An O-scope is the only way to determine 100% modulation.

Never gauge a radio by what your meter says, you will always be disappointed.

If you still believe that your radio has less than 100% modulation, you will need to test it on the trusty O-scope.

His Dosey watt meter told him that. Heck who needs a scope when ya got you a Dosey. Sorry 359 but I gotta hit the BS button on this, go grind your axe some place else. Better yet just have Copper tune the next radio for you.

Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.
  • @ crappykraco:
@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
