Remove 2 mtr module, remove top cover. At the PA end of module, you will find q01, it is a mosfet, 3sk74l2x. Replace this with a BF982. The leads are a little thicker, but can be worked in. Use a 1mm drill to open the holes. The long lead of the BF982 should be installed facing away from the PA Module.
When the fet is fitted a very small length of wire should be installed from the source lead to the surrounding groundplane. reinstall 2 mtr module and enjoy the low noise, improved signal reception.
