The squelch on this radio only works in the FM mode. Is there anyway to make it work in the other modes?

Thanks

Fasteddy,

The squelch works in all modes, but it usually isn't

too effective in SSB unless the RF gain is turned

down some. I never figured out why they even put

a squelch on the '140, except for FM not many people

ever use it...

Doc,

Thats curious because on my 140 you can turn the squelch all the way up on AM is SSB and no dice. I asked a friend who has 2 140's and he says they came from the factory with only FM squelch. Not doubting your word I just want to at least have squelch on AM.

Thanks

Rugrat235,

Thanks for the verificaion of the squelch working only in FM mode. Just wish there was a mod to change that. I use a Shure 444 on my 140 with excellent results. I'm sure the MC60 is a great choice also, they always sound good.
