It is my first AR. Windham Weaponry is who it is from with Nikon 3 to 9 glass and Nikon mounts,

Getting a DIT Trigger | Black Rain OrdnanceBlack Rain Ordnance

to add and a bipod to round it out for the range

If I get a 10 round mag it is legal to deer hunt with in my state

im my state if its a center fire its leg to deer hunt,hehe 25auto...wouldnt do it,but shows how dumb some are in my elected offices in Missouri now.

I read if it is .22 cal center fire or bigger it is legal

The 223 / 5.56 is a great round for my area .With the right loads it will knock down a deer with no trouble...and I have talked to a few people that has used them for hog hunting.

I've got Nikon camera's lenses and a couple of Nikon riflescopes. Their glass is pretty good.

Nikon is not bad. I like their rimfire scope. On AR platforms, I prefer an electronic sight with little or no magnification.

A Nikon P-223 with BDC? The scope in the pic from the first post looks identical to a Nikko Stirling Nighteater scope to me.. Look at the scope objective shape. Nikons don't have that 'visor', and they're considerably smaller. You sure it's not a Nikko?

Back to the scope issue....

I bought the scope at an estate sale/auction a while back.It was in a Nikon box,and it does have the Nikon style BDC cross hair ....not the mil dots .

I took a look at another Nikon BDC scope and a Bushnell BDC scope at a local gun shop to compare cross hair types and it is the NikonBDC for sure.

What throws me ( now that I am looking into it more ) is the scope has no markings of any kind to tell me what brand it is. I was in Academy Sports the other day and found a Centerpoint scope that looks just like what I have but it has the mil dot cross hair .... now I am wondering just what brand of scope I do have....

But I will say that my recent trip to the range was fun,and did get to do a nice break in and scope set up, and the scope did hold set through 100 rounds

At 50 yards grouped about 1.5 inches and at 100 yards about 2.5 inch .Not to bad over all with the factory trigger group ( hate the mil spec trigger ..to heavy and draggy)....the after market trigger group I have my eye on should help close the grouping up a bit more

I clean up my own AR triggers. Takes 15 minutes or so. Makes a huge difference from a ordinary stock trigger. All you need is a fine whetstone and some JB's Bore paste or jewelers rouge. I leave the springs alone. It feels like a lighter trigger but it actually a lot smoother because of the polishing.

I bought a couple of Jard triggers on closeout from CDNN. Both are non-adjustable rated at 3.5 pounds. Cost was $50 apiece.
They're pretty good. Very little creep and overtravel.
