i don't recommend any mast extending above the boom of the V Quad. for best results install the groundplane on a separate support structure and keep the two antennas at least 1 wavelength apart from each other, more is better.

any mast support extending above the boom and infringing on the open area inside the loops will destroy the fine characteristics of the V Quad.

Has anyone used a V-Quad base antenna and how good are they compared to the Marco vertical beam antenna, or a Dipole type antenna?
