Unfortunately on SSB Galaxy radio's are known for drifting like a sailboat. On a base or in a warm climate they do settle down the longer the radio is on. In winter weather areas you will chase your clarifier like a dog chasing his tail. That said I think you just need to get the hang of a dual...

Great old school amplifier. 800 watts seems like quite a bunch even for a class C 1x4.

I would contact Carl at Carl Built Amps. Since he built it new just have him fix it. The older amplifiers are so much better. Not a big fan of 1x4 or 2x4 amplifiers. You probably don’t even need the 100 as a driver to be honest.

RCI radio’s are known for this. (2950,70,90, and 95) Only option would be to have a proper receive alignment done so it can be as good as it gets.

I guess it all comes down to what type of radio shopper you are. If you are strictly shopping by price and you want an un-touched radio from Amazon or a big retailor then that's what you get. I have done this, you get an ok sounding radio that you hope is on frequency and at least ballparked in...
