just an update
all voltages in the tx section are all on the mark as compared to the voltage chart in the service manual
also removed c132 and replaced driver bias diode as advised by rogerbird
still the radio output power is 15-18w max
rechecked all resistors in the tx section none seems...

hi! i've read most of your recommendations re: insulator on the finals of the hr2510 and its exactly what i followed and that really solved the "weird" swr problem
the main problem of my unit is that the previous owner may have adjusted the power output by using the bias pots...
hi everyone!
had recently acquired a "working" HR2510 with the MRF 477 finals
first time i switched on the unit, i notice that there is a "carrier" on ssb, and SWR goes haywire when the covered is off, max power is 40+ watts
reading the posts in this forum, i placed an insulator...
fixed it finally!
this unit gave me sleepless nights and got me stumped for awhile
the fix couldn't be less simple
it was just a glue that has become conductive due to aging
the 5v regulator supplying the cpu was glued to the board and it sits directly below the pins for front panel...
I recently acquired a working realistic htx100 (not modified), but before i was able to fully enjoy it, some of the front panel buttons stopped working - behaving just like the F Lock switch is on ( freq knob, up/down sw, memo and mode doesn't work)
this was intermittent at first, behaving...
FINALLY FIXED IT!
I initially suspected the input/prescaler board but even after almost scorching the board with my hot air station I cannot provoke it to work, I turned my attention to the display board
It didn’t take long before I had a specific area to concentrate, its around an HD74S112P...
yup! resoldered most of the pads now,,, was thinking maybe a via or something but flexing the board doesn't make any difference,,,, how i wish i can have its service manual,
replaced the crystal (10.000 mhz but different from the orig) just to test the unit but sad to say its still the same, unit still works/dont work unpredictably
ok mate tnx for the tip! the oscillator reads exactly at 10.0000 mhz (read using another counter) but i have no way to measure amplitude (no access to an oscilloscope), i will try to locate and will try replacing the 10.000mhz crystal
the crystal of this unit looks like it has a heater...
i recently acquired an intermittently working LEADER LDC 824 frequency counter in a deal that is hard to resist (reads from 10hz to 520mhz)
sometimes it works (reads frequency) after 20mins warmup, sometimes after an hour other times it wouldn't work even after 2hours warmup time. Also at...
