I was told at one point that if the little watch battery went bad it would do that, I don't know for sure, but a cheap thing to try before taking to a shop

Just a follow up, removed all the junk from the connex, works great now. Took it to another cb shop, just to make sure everything was done right. Thanks for all the help. You really know your stuff

Sorry it took so long to respond, got crazy at home (leaky roof and pipes in bathroom blew up) why leave the diode in (soldered to a resistor by the way)

So, just to be clear, remove the wires and other parts, then put the transistor back in and should be good right? What about that diode soldered in series with the resistor? And thank you very much
